Step by step,climbing higher,and higher,
Each one leads up,
I’ve almost reached my hearts’
desire.
Step by step,I’m getting tired and weary,
Step by step is making me teary.
Step by step,I’ve reached the cross,
Step by step,after each weary mile,
Step by step,the journey’s complete
I’ll just kneel down and rest a while,
At Jesus’ nail scarred feet.
