This poem was made of a list of things that made me happy in middle school.
Wise words from Winnie-the-Pooh,
“The Wizard of Oz”, picnics in a canoe;
peppermint tea, beanbag chairs, pillows,
cobblestone walks, books, weeping willows;
love-bead doors, oriental rugs, friendship rings, letters, hugs,
peacock feathers, big cozy sweaters,
catching snowflakes on my tongue…
Iced cappuccino from Gloria Jeans,
Kids in the Hall sketch comedy scenes;
lying in leaves, singing for hours,
the moon, the sun, warm outside showers;
Monopoly, new soccer balls, baby pups, old stone walls,
lilacs, smiles, beach jogs lasting miles,
the flying dream we all know…
clouds, rainbows, tasting the sky,
chocolate, red licorice, American Pie.
