Written after a friend’s poem got eaten by a chat program… it got sent but never received and the writer could never quite remember the wording of her poem.
Who steals the words that don’t get written?
Down they go, not on paper bidden.
Some are forgotten before they’re penned –
Others are penned and scrapped
On scraps forgotten scratched upon.
Who steals the words that don’t get written?
Who gets to read what wasn’t down?
What wisdom passes from man’s quest –
Falling out of mankind’s nest?
Who steals the words that don’t get written?
