The violence escalates, the war rages on

Schoolyard of children in the early dawn

Shots never fired, no need for a ban

Death came much slower a stick in hand

Losing the children, no end in sight

No longer a sense of wrong or right

A senseless, violent, brutal act

Sitting back, watching a deadly attack

A war being fought by children we raised

Children watching children, confused, frightened, dazed
