A poem I wrote for my nan 10 years ago when we found out she was about to die.
To the one we hold so dear
The one we love so much
Who has the sweetest smile
And has the softest touch
With your caring lovingness
You’ve watched your family grow
And watched over everyone of us
And you know we love you so
But we can’t keep you forever
Even with your heart of gold
And sadly we can’t stop the forces
That keeps us growing old
I hope we’ve given you pleasure
And not much trouble and strife
For were now ending a beautiful chapter
In natures book of life
And if god works in mysterious ways
In everything he does
Then I’m sure he’ll make you an angel
So you can still watch over us
So when you see those pearly gates
There should be a big golden banner
Heading.- “we’ll for always love you,
And forever miss you Nanna”
