A true story about horses being stranded on a little island in the middle of a field when we had the floods this year, it was on the news.

The floodwater rises with the heavy rain

The sea defences are useless and they break down

Nothing is safe in this domain

All you can see is a land under water all around.

The rain’s hit hard in the middle of the night

Horses are stuck in the middle of a field

The media is also in formed of their plight

It’s scary for us so how do they feel?

The water is still rising with no room to go anywhere

People trying hard to rescue them until they were safe on dry ground

Tired, hungry and scared

With exhaustion some had drowned.

Two experienced riders went across on horses to get them to follow

Follow they did all wet and cold

Happiness replaced the sorrow

The horses had been rescued as the news unfolded.
