A meeting of two strangers who offer marriage proposal on two consecutive days.
Strange Encounters – Susan Varo 10/23/2009
Yesterday and today
To and fro
Am I being tested
I really don’t know
There are two seeking me
Like I’m at their disposal
With nothing but their words
And with a marriage proposal
These strange encounters
Are not what they seem
Why can’t I wake up
Wake up from this dream
Right there when they spoke
Their words were the same
Right here, here’s the joke
I only have a first name
If it’s all just a game
I can just do without
Where are all the rules
What is this all about
Unknown faces I see
Do I stand out loud
They’re coming to me
Amongst a variable crowd
Are they seeking answers
What is it in me
Such unwitting dancers
With rehearsed choreography
What strange encounters
Or am I the strange one
Seems there is no ending
Since when it begun
Stranger and stranger
And stranger it will get
Who are these strangers
These strangers I just met
