About a male customer in a flower shop. He insists on buying a bouquet made-up entirely of red roses, the traditional symbol of love. But, they are sold-out.

An alluring
sweet smelling
bunch of flowers
pink geraniums
purple anthuriums
white lilies
very frilly
daffodils in yellow
fresh from the meadow
pansies blue
orchids in hue
‘But red roses are out
heaven knows what’s that about.’
“Close-minded you are by tradition and dreams”
said the flowers in cream.
‘But red roses are the true love
and not you foxglove!’
“That’s very neat
and you’re so sweet
but all say
when nothing else may
love you so much
want your heart to be touched
the thought that counts
while dreams mount
popularity is vanity
life’s packed with variety
lighten-up
get the buttercups”.
‘Tradition I say
you’re out for today.’
