Stuck on stupid (adj.) – in a prolonged state of being completely clueless. Some people refuse to accept that it’s over.

Blue in the face, I replay

The message for you

Pause, rewind

Again and again hoping

Perhaps it will be heard

Acknowledged for what it is

Seems you are stuck on stupid

The record mode disabled

Nothing can be imprinted

Retained in your memory

Rephrased and regurgitated

Spoon-fed to you like a child

But you refuse to swallow

How can you be nourished

And grow into a man

Make your own way in the world

Stop depending on me

And everyone else to take care

Of your self-serving demands

Stuck on stupid, failing to recognize

If you don’t learn to feed yourself

You will starve eventually

Fighting a losing battle

To hold onto me when you should have

Long since raised the white flag

Thrown in the towel

How many clichés do I have to use?

It’s over, finished

No love remains

The more I say it, the harder you

Fight against it.  Why?

Are you really stuck on stupid

Or is this your way of insuring

That I lead a miserable existence

Unable to move forward

Without you in my wake
