Trapped in a moment of rock-bottom.

The immense grandfather clock is ticking with extreme placidity,
Elongating these excruciating seconds,
Fright is lingering just below the surface,
Hidden by the scars and emotional pain,
But fesses up as the thought of letting you down waves through my conscience,
What a little, weak soul I have,
Overcome by a demon bouncing against the four walls of this pathetic body,
The demon wants out,
And I contemplate my options,
I crave nothing more than the intensity of watching my scarlet-hued life dripping from my body,
Whilst I sit here alone and content on the hazy horizon of my sanity,
This time, I lose myself inside these forever expanding images in my mind,
And for the time being,
I don’t let you down,
Your love saves me in the littlest of ways,
And gives me strength in the deepest depths of my soul,
Allowing me to lift my lead-filled foot and step just that much closer to freedom,
This time, I won a little battle,
A battle so small,
It may get lost in the constant war going on inside of me,
