The pain and sadness that can be found with the needless violence and wars of the world.

When I look into your eyes I see sadness, I see pain,
I can feel the torture that tears apart your brain,
Just a normal hometown boy never stood out in a crowd,
tried to do the best he could to make his family proud.

Left school and joined the forces, you thought it might be fun,
To go and see the world , to learn to shoot a gun,
It was not all you bargained for, the bitterness ,the pain,
All the sights of tyranny that were to take their strain.

But you just suffer in silence, that’s all you can do,

Suffer in silence with what you’ve been through,

Just praying for someone to take this pain away,

Or it’s going to be with you till your dying day,

The needless violence in the world, whenever will it end?
Why can’t we all live in Peace? Why can’t we live as friends?
No-one should have to see the sites your eyes beheld,
the merciless slaughtering, the innocents being felled.

But you just suffer in silence, that’s all you can do,

Suffer in silence with what you’ve been through,

But there is nobody here to take this pain away,

It’s going to be with you till your dying day,

Now you stand a broken man, your faith has all but gone,
how can you trust in anything? With all that has gone on?
How is it you may ask, all this that I can see?
I’m looking in the mirror, those eyes belong to me!

So I‘ll just suffer in silence, that’s all I can do

Suffer in silence it’s sad but its true,

The anguish the pain that just won’t go away,

Just a shell of a man waiting for the day,

When I no longer suffer in silence, no more tears would I cry,

I suffered in silence, until my final goodbye.
