A haunting poem.

Visions of sugar plum fairies

May dance in your head

As for me I’m left with

Nightmarish dread

The time of sleep

Should not cause one to weep

Yet here I cry

Tears all over my bed

While the haunting calls of

The long lost dead

Mingle and echo outside my window

Their red eyes I do see

Staring back at me

From through the glass

I’m terrified they want

To put me in a trance

And turn me into one of them

Or worse still lure me out of my warm house

To eat my brain!

Oh I think I am going insane!

So I do only what I can

I hide my head under my pillow

Wishing for them to find another window

To haunt instead of mine
