Spoken word poem.
I’ve come to realize I’ve never had a chance.
I’ve spent my time imagining a pitiful romance.
I’m starting to dread, maybe it was all in my head.
His confused expression explains nothing to the dead.
He loves you, so don’t you dare fucking lie.
It’s not like I can’t see that stupid twinkle in his eye.
I’ll go on with my heart bruised, my ego hardly intact.
He sins like a saint, as a matter of fact.
Who would’ve thought you could be deceived by a smile?
Makes your heart beat as if you’ve run a mile.
But now it’ll just make mine sick, so fuck this pathetic crush.
I’ll be a different person tomorrow..right now, a lush.
My soul’s on a crutch..
