Gotta love it…
i’m sittin’ here with my hair tied back
a careless smile across my face
poking my finger through a hole in my jeans
it’s plain to see they’re a hopeless case
kickin’ back with a good book
branches shade me from the sun
fall asleep under the trees
summer daze has just begun
there’s nothin’ on earth like sleeping in late
and waking up to silence
thinkin’ about the coming day
guess it’s true that we’re only young once
snapping my gum as loud as i want
’cause there’s no one here to complain
i won’t be bothered by pointless tasks
today something’s got to keep me sane
it’s a kind of vibe that’s in the air
a shimmer of suggestion everywhere
tellin’ me to stop moving and take life slow
after all, i’ve still got a ways to go
so let’s think of nothing but the smell of bacon
and the next two months of summer vacation
