Remembering my favorite place to swim when I was a teen.

Summer River Camping
1 Feb 09

Lay upon the ground
Watch the clouds drift by
Close your eyes
See beyond the sky

Floating down the river
Hear the water flow
Completely let go
Nature in control

Water ripples over the rocks
Clearest water I’ve ever seen
Catfish on the bottom
Counted fourteen

Hunting for arrowheads
But I found a crystal instead
Sun so bright today
We’ve all turned red

When the sun goes down
The frogs come out
Can you hear that big one
Louder than all get-out

First up in the morning
Skipping stones till
Mother calls with breakfast
Has us running up the hill

Lay upon the ground
Day dreams drift by
Open your eyes
Swim beyond the sky

A wonderful poem, reminding us of summer days. It has given me such a lift on this cols snowy day.

I remember days like this! After my chores were done, I would put on my bikini and go down to the deepest part of the creek where I would swim and lay on the bank to sunbathe , , , Nice poem! Thanks for reminding me . . .
