Despite signs of autumn in the air, it is still so peaceful and relaxing to sit out of doors.

The sky above shines down on me,

A deep dark blue, so rare of late,

Casting a little joy into a gloomy heart.

The scent of honeysuckle

Invades my senses

Calming my mind, so full of thoughts.

The breeze, unwelcome, tears at my hair

And chills the body.

The sun has not yet reached the shady corner where I sit

But promises a kinder day.

Are you sure you didn’t come visit here for the inspiration to this nice poem. Except for the pictures, it was like you wrote about where I live.

Nice poem and format Christine. I love the fall of the year, i just dread the winter months that are soon to follow. Well done friend.

I hate the way the summer’s ended now although I’m completely a winter person! I mean christmas is just around the corner, and then the woolies will be about, nice hot chocolate with marshmallows and sitting by the fireplace. England did have a beautiful summer though and it’s a pity it’s ended!

Christine, your poem reminds me of sitting on my deck on nice summer days. I hate the thought of winter when it will be too cold to sit out and enjoy the weather.
