An haiku is generally about nature, the beauty and majesty captured in a snapshot of 5-7-5 syllables. A senryu is pretty much the same, except the subject matter centers around the human condition. This little snapshot is about the super-bowl, one of the most watched athletic events in the US. This year’s was a nail biter with the Patriots and the Giants.

Pigskin flying down

A rocket of fity yards

And the kick is good.

And I almost cried! I love your poem though. Oh well, maybe another year. My Patriots choked in the end. Gotta hand it to the Gians though, they are a good team and always have been.

Sorry A! That was a heartbreaker of a game for Patriot fans.
