Just when you think you know someone, they can turn around and surprise you.
We never established ourselves as a couple
there was always difficulty and trouble
You never took ownership of me
either did you allow me to be free
You knew your presence haunted me
it buzzed around like a threatening bee
A bubble to burst on its agenda
you could never commit to me then
You took delight saying I am not marriage material
You knew how to make me buckle and keel
Yet when you saw my makeup sliding down
you vowed to turn this all around
