With a voice so rich and true, bringing an ovation with her brilliant debut….

I have just been watching the news,

Full of chaos, problems and reviews.

It’s not usually something I enjoy,

Watching people one another destroy.

So it was like a breath of fresh air

To see someone with such great flair,

Making good in the face of defeat

And bringing the world to its feet.

In a reality show on T.V.

Which millions tuned in to see,

The Scottish lady Susan Boyle

Hushed the cynical Simon Cowell

With a voice so rich and true

Bringing an ovation with her brilliant debut.

How could a talent which raised such applause.

Up to now, have been such a lost cause?

What made her hide it away?

When for years it should have been on display.

Perhaps home circumstances denied her,

But at least now she has caused a stir.

Just an ordinary person like you and me,

Has wooed everyone, I’m sure you’ll agree.

Now she’ll get the recognition deserved,

And her beautiful voice around the world will be heard.

A beautiful tribute and poem Christine, this woman blew me away when I heard her voice and like you I wondered why she had waited so long to let the world hear it but I’m so glad she did

I avoid reality TV the way I avoid morning newspapers. After this moving tribute, however, I will have to hear this voice.

I haven’t seen this here in Cyprus, so I will look her up, if she kept Simon quiet …well she must be brilliant!

  • Christine Ramsay on Apr 17, 2009

I will try and get rid of the spammer. Thank you for your comments. For those who haven’t seen her it is worth it even if it is only to see the looks on the faces of the judging panel.

    Christine,
I had tears of joy in my eyes when Susan Boyle stood before Simon Cowell and the rest of the judges. It was easy to see they had prejudged her before she did anything, just by her looks. But when she opened her mouth and belted out that first verse, it really was awesome to see the shock on all the judges\’ face when they saw that this woman had an over flow of talent. I just hope she uses her talent. I\’ll be the first in line to buy her CD when it comes out. You did a helluva job writing this tribute to her. I couldn\’t have said it better. Excellent poem. Keep up the great work, and lets hope we hear more from Susan real soon!

  • Aaron Paul Hicks on Apr 18, 2009

Great poem and an enjoyable read, i watched her perform and i tingled all over, people sat and laughed at her until she sang and wiped there judgemental grins from there faces…..fantastic, i cant stop watching her on “you tube” were she has had over 30 million hits already! awesome.

  • Christine Ramsay on Apr 19, 2009

I heard this morning that the singer whom Susan aspired to sing like, Elaine Paige, has offered to do a duet with her. I think that is wonderful.
Thank you for all your comments

  • Phill Senters on May 9, 2009

A beautiful and fitting tribute to a wonderfully talented lady. When I saw what that audience was doing, I got those ‘goose bumps’ all over. Then she let ‘em have it! Such a beautiful thing to watch their faces when Susan began to sing. Great work, Christine.
