A writer who would keep you on the edge of your seat.

I once knew a guy who could write scary stories that kept all your senses on edge
Like the one where the heroine fell down near a canyon and nearly went over the ledge.
But a cowboy rode by in the blink of an eye and threw the young damsel a rope
And pulled her to safety and into his arms just when we had nearly lost hope.

One story he wrote was about this old farmer who lost all his crops in a flood.
Just as the bank was about to take over my friend’s writing nipped that in the bud.
On Saturday night the farmer was worried.  Come Monday the sale would take place
But my writer friend made the farmer win the Trifecta on Sunday’s big race.

He could make your palms sweaty–he could make you hold on to your breath.
His stories wer filled with suspense–they’d scare you near half to death.
All kinds of danger right up to the end which was always a real whiz banger
And why shouldn’t he be good at this when his real given name was Cliff Hanger?
