War poem bemoaning the plight of lovers split apart because of war.

SWAN SONG TO LOVE

Dawn rents the veil; that pall of night

and woe smarts those who linger in love

Hopes flail and fade as evil smotes light

Rose red eyes gaze for sweet solace above.

Cruel bow you fired your dart too soon

when all things fair must crumble and wane.

Oh why did fate plunge earth in doom?

Our peace to torture with howls of pain.
