Fun with rhyming words and on the road with poetry. A cute little ditty that will have you singing it before you are through reading.
Skippin’ down the highway,
barefoot girl just likes to play;
see how she sings as she sashays
face to the wind she ne’er delays.
Hair blown back over her shoulder,
ain’t nothin’ gonna make her look older;
sweet young thing, makes you wanna hold ‘er,
sunshine ‘cross her ruby lips that smolder.
Skirt’s flyin’ higher with each breeze,
exposin’ more than just her knees;
she don’t care what anyone sees,
skips along, pretty as you please.
Cars passin’ by can’t help but slow,
so those inside can watch the show;
don’t think she don’t know it, oh no,
prances quicker for more effect … so.
When the whistles start to reach her,
she looks to see if anyone can teach her;
somethin’ new along the way, no preacher,
her shining white knight, sweet little creature.
On her way without looking back,
she gets her wiggle back on track;
her destination nearing, she cuts no slack,
gotta get there ‘fore the sky turns black.
Sweet little Missy, skippin’ along,
singin’ again her happiest song;
she knows her life ain’t seen no wrong,
she’ll be home soon, though the road is long.
