A Love Story.
Crisp, cool air swept across my face.
Just holding his hand make my heart race.
I caught him looking down at the ring on my hand.
Newly enaged I am to a wonderful man.
Sweet thoughts filled my head as I drift off to sleep.
Of beautiful, pure things that were mine to keep.

I woke suddenly to an ugly sound that didn’t sound right.
I never seen such terror on his face, such fright.
I saw only lights by the time I sat up.
Not knowing full speed ahead was coming a truck.
I woke up this time nothing sweet only weakness.
And in moments felt he yearned for my kiss.
I jumped up looking for him terrified of the worse.
I see him twisted a few yards away, we must be cursed.
I run so fast, I just fall to his side.
And lay there as flames demolish our ride.
Kisses so gentle and soft to the touch.
As he gasps and weezes he says he loves me so much.
I love you baby hear my voice.
We’ll pull through this hunny
We now have no choice.
Be stronger now more than ever.
Our life barely even began together.
I never wanted to see you in pain.
Lord, can we please do this night again.
How can I breathe when he has no air.
I can’t stand just watching him lie there.
Is this it? What will my last word be?
He reaches for my hand, and says he’ll wait for me
Bless this man and his sweet fate.
Forgive us Father for praying too late.
I never thought I looked good in black.
I keep thinking on that night wanting to go back.
I look down at the ring on my hand.
And smile to myself,
because he was more than a man.
He was a blessing, and a lesson that made me feel safe.
He helped me discover myself, and rediscover my faith.
