A typical night of fun at the dance club.

It is about 5:30 pm on a Friday evening
It is happy hour and I am feeling it
The music is perfect and I am ready to dance
There are plenty of people to party and step
Swing with the beat but not to any song
It has to be in the era of Motown’s flow
The rhythm of movement makes everything sweet
As you float across the dance floor in your fanny feet
Everything seem natural with your dance partner and all
We feel each other with every dip and turn
A world of groove is a special place
It a job to keep up with the pace
The DJ know what you want to hear
As the noise level rises it hurts my ears
But I do not care because I am having fun
Swing with the beat and loving everyone
It a fellowship of one mind all in one place
Most folks are dressed to impress
At this point I am feeling no stress
Swing with the beat I cannot stay off my feet
There are many single folks in the house
Most in the party mood and ready to get out
A search for that partner to swing through the night
Swing with the beat as we scream and shout
