Verse about the world’s most glorious city in which to spend a winter.

Image via Wikipedia | Sydney Winter City

Softened golds awaken me,

Silent strips from morning white,

Leaping from slumber is the way.

Sydney makes you want to grasp midwinter with fervors,

Silver, aluminum skies lifting zephyrs of angel dust,

Against chugging tugs carrying fresh girls.

Only Sydney’s winter makes you run into day,

Cut grass, wattle and sea spray swamp senses,

Lightly chilled; Thank ` you!

Champagne harbours swells full of violet and aquamarines,

Sluices cut blue with snowy swathes,

A boson, a ferryman – people of the sea.

A city just like all the rest,

With women in suits sipping blackberries,

Yet - unique in transporting you alive - fresh from your wintery haze.
