Think of the homeless.
See the homeless people, living on the street
Rags hang from their bodies and tied around their feet
They shiver when it’s cold, go hungry every day
Get bitten by the flees and Lice and itch and scratch decay
Hands held out, they ask for change, but we ignore their pleas.
We turn away and then we say, just get away from me.
They don’t live long, their bodies weak and neglect just takes its toll
Many die by the road, slumped in some forsaken hole
We could be those people, if fate was cruel to us
But we are here, inside our homes, so we don’t have to fuss
Please give a thought for the hungry and homeless, living by the road
Be thankful you are lucky and it’s not your own abode
Put your hand into your pocket and spare a coin or two
And just be glad to have a home and the homeless person isn’t you
