Older couple reestablishing communication in face of waning passion.
I would like to talk to you in a brand new way
For the old way is not working any more
We seem to understand each other less and less
The words we have always used have lost their meanings
Through the years we have grown closer in many way
In others there has been a distance ever growing
Why is that, you say only that we need to talk
But to me talk is all we seem to do, all talk and little action
That said though, it sounds to harsh, for no actions are really needed
But still, stated differently, words do seem to flow without effect
So that is why I propose that new language we would speak
And new topics too, for the things we need to know and say have changed
In our younger years we spoke much of love, and love’s techniques
There always was a banter going on, with erotic aura given many things
There was both talk and lots of action back when we were young
But at our present age both would be a danger to our health
The frequent sex we gave up gradually
Fine with me thought I would not exactly say good riddance
The banter too, but with what have we replaced them both
We must find new words and ways to speak of that
Yes, how does one replace lost lives without communication
Clearly, we have much work to do
Today I see the weather is quite lovely
Come, take my hand, we will walk in the park and say what comes to mind
