Tanka is a japanese style of poetry, closely related to haiku. It’s form is five lines, the syllable count is 5-7-5-7-7, but each line must be a complete thought. My last post was on self-esteem and beauty. This tanka is not about vanity, but for all who know their self-worth.

I know who I am.

I’m not what you say I am.

I am royalty.

I will hold my head up high.

No one can discourage me.

I don’t know much about Tanka but I think I like it.

Thank you, Ruby! I enjoyed your articles as well. I am working on making my apartment more spacious to make room for a new addition. :)
