Write a poem that contains a recipe.

I paused,
reread, longing for just
a bit of Easter in July.

I grabbed the bowl
combining confectioners’ sugar
peanut butter, butter
and milk until blended.
My shaking fingers
Shape mixture into two 1/2 pound eggs
I freeze eggs for 1 hour.

While the eggs froze,
My assist cut semi-sweet chocolate
into small pieces and place
in top of double boiler with shortening.
She melted it over medium heat,
stirring frequently until smooth.
Finally she Stick a long-tined fork
in top of each peanut butter egg,
I dip it in melted chocolate
She covers and set them to drain
on waxed paper. When the eggs were
cooled and set, I used own fingers decorate.

Minutes later,
I gulp eggs, saving a pair for her
in two bites each
savoring unexpected bits of Easter.
