Tears rolled down Lola cheeks until she died.

Tears rolled down Lola cheeks

As she heard the sad news

That her husband

Was cheating on her

- – -

Lola was in a relationship

That she had vowed

For life and meant

Every word of it

On a matrimonial altar

Witnessed by family and friends

- – -

Now after 30 years of marriage

With three grown children

Her husband broke the news

That he was madly in love

With someone else

- – -

Lola cried her heart out

Asking, “how could this be?”

Jim has always told her

That he loved her

Assuring her that they would

Be soul mates for life

- – -

As Lola wept

She was outraged

Slapped Jim

And ordered him to leave

Their home

Since he confessed

That he had been sleeping

With her best friend Julie

Behind her back

- – -

Jim quickly packed a suitcase

Said he was sorry again and again

Scampered through the door

Not to be seen

Nor heard of, again

- – -

Lola never forgave him

But cried every night

Until she pined away

Poor Lady. This is one of the reasons I am not getting married. The other is there is no man on earth that is like Daddy was. My mom and daddy were so happy for knowing each other over 50 years and married 46 years. He was the greatest man to walk the Earth in current times.

That is all well and good
    Poetry is keen,
    but what was she thinking?
    to be so mean?
    She had three children,
    So he could go bite
    this little snake,
    and DIE over him?
    I say, lose the heartache!
    Pull yourself trim!
    Think of the kids,
and, again I admire the prose,
but in a month, over the skids,
and Joe could go suck a hose..
