A religious satire.
Untitled
If tears and guns and black-lace veils
Are all that your life entails,
Be true to the Tradition
And make Salvation your mission.
For if your pride be simply wrought
Or your mind and heart easily bought
Drop your fleshy shield
And let your true ignorance be revealed.
Who says that money and deeds live not forever?
Who says that saving lives and knowledging minds
Be not for the good of immortal endeavors
And should not be judged from the foolish kinds.
These are the dreams never realized,
These are the foes that live on;
That for not the enemy but for one prophesized,
Belief-slaves risk the approaching dawn.
