A family poem about arguing and everything a family isn’t; particularly, my family. Written July 14th, 2007.

I thought a family stuck together
Remained close in heart
Always to be there for each other
They’re not supposed to fall apart

I step away from my family
And watch the disaster we’re in
What happened to family love?
With us, you can never win

I’m a girl without her father
Mom and grandma always fight
What happened to sticking together?
We argue day and night!

A family is supposed to love you
A family is supposed to care
And if your ever in a rut
When you need them, they are there

With us, we’re torn apart
Never happiness, only pain
Never smiles, happiness and joy
With us, it’s tears and rain

How true this is for many “families”. To me there’s a difference between family and relation…You have a bond with family and they’re there for you and you’re there for them…Relatives just share common genetic factors…But either way, very beautiful poem.
