Every time I think everything will be alright how some way I get brought back to how much pain we caused each other.

Every tear that falls to the page should explain the way I feel,
while looking back upon the past when we were so in love with each other.
With every word I try to write comes more doubt I bring myself,
knowing life would never be there same when you felt to smothered.

My mouth now dry from the words dangling high up in the air,
each one of us know what was about to come when we least wanted it to.
Hoping you would be able to forgive everything that I have done,
wishing life would stop right there so I can decide what was once true.

The wind picking up the speed outside banging on the door,
as the rain begins to pore just like the tears I cannot stop from falling.
Knowing the end of us is getting closer as the pain begins to build,
my heart breaking more while I sit the phone waiting for you to call.

Slowly breaking more inside as I hear the pain in your voice,
only wanting to make everything between us return to what it used to be.
Raising my voice while you no longer want to hear what I have to say,
hoping one day you will be able to hear what I need to say before you leave me.

My gut twisting inside me while I write my apology letter that I truly am sorry,
leaving a picture of us, the letter, and a single tear on your pillow when I leave.
Knowing you probably wont believe any of what I say is true,
for in the end you had to be the one I would once again deceive.

Attempting to get the chance to see you while you are on leave at home,
but remembering it will only once again cause us too much pain.
Seeing your face inside my every dream that makes me wake up in the middle of the night,
expecting the chance to get to say I’m truly sorry before I go insane.
