Ten days with a wise man.
Ten days with a wise old man.
By Fernando Ramirez.
First day the smiles go around.
The air is new.
And lost memories are found.
The second day with nothing to redo.
Nothing to Forget nor argue.
And nothing review.
Third day the wise elder speaks to his people.
The wisdom so complex but yet so simple.
Eyes are open even though it’s nothing but a sample.
Fourth day the wise man soundly sleeps.
The young play.
And the old think.
The Fifth day the wise man thinks and ponders.
Goes to market and talks to the traders.
Returns home and wonders.
Sixth day the young are hungry.
The wise man gives them words instead of meat.
In the end they are so full they need no more to eat.
The seventh day the wise man goes to rest.
The air smells like love.
The words expressed with such a grace they flew like doves.
Then we stop and all we do is stare at the one above.
The eighth day happiness is felt everywhere.
So much so that it’s almost rare.
And we aren’t even aware.
The ninth day the smiles turn to tears.
The wise man is about to leave.
Countless memories we try to retrieve.
But never achieve.
Greatness we cannot even perceive.
Tenth day Love surrounds the sun.
Even though we are not even done.
The clouds won’t dare and bring darkness to this day.
Feelings move fast in this big speedway.
Still the Old wise man must leave.
With his wisdom hard to achieve.
But not impossible to receive.
