A poem about 10 little runners.

Ten Little Runners

Ten little runners started out fine

One got a side ache and then there were nine.

Nine little runners ran through a gate

One missed the opening and then there were eight.

Eight little runners looked up at heaven

One tripped up and then there were seven.

Seven little runners ran the Quad City Bix

One dropped out and then there were six.

Six little runners ran past a hive

One got stung and then there were five.

Five little runners wanted to run more

One gave up and then there were four.

Four little runners ran past a tree

One stopped to climb it and then there were three.

Three little runners were almost through

One stopped for water and then there were two.

Two little runners almost won

One had a better kick and then there was one.

One little runner said he was done

He left the meet and then there were none.
