A poem about the longing one soul feels as it awaits the return of its’ one perfect match.

Over centuries I’ve yearned for you

Mourned your loss alone

Returning always to this place

That once we two called home

But this tender darkness lies to me

For again you are not there

And still I cannot feel your warmth

Nor smell the sweetness of your hair

How much longer must I wait

For your soul to be reborn

To know the joy of your embrace

And no longer have to mourn

This darkness makes me long for you

And the gentleness of your love

A tender darkness that separates

This lion from his dove
