They do not call them angels of Mercy for nothing; read this short inspirational poem today and do not forget to thank a Nurse today!!
Dear Nurse:
I was alone and afraid in my darkened room
Then you came in, sat on the edge of my bed, and held my hand
Nobody had to ask you to come, you just did
You assuaged my fears as you hummed a tune
Sitting by my side for what seemed for hours
You kept me safe, you actually took the time to listen
When others would not give me the time of day, you gave all
Make sure I took my medication on time, you explained each pill and the dose
Checked my temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respirations in a matter of minutes
When I was depressed, you cheered me up so much
That I walked 10 laps around the nursing station all on my own
You fed and bathed me and made sure I had fresh sheets and a gown
You called the doctor and got medical orders when my blood pressure went way down
In my most vulnerable moments when I almost lost the will to live
You lovingly cared for me without a single complaint
No amount of money on Earth could ever repay you for your good hearted nature
You are a true angel, a gift from the heavens above
Lord only knows where I would have been without your precious touch
I want you to know, from one heart to another that I love you so much
You have a gift to offer others, it is the gift of love
I wish you all the best, for you gave me hope with your touching smile
Ever since you walked into my room and stayed with me for awhile
