I opened up, I let you in
showed you a side so few will know

the connection seemed great
we were beginning to grow

the days seemed shorter, the air a bit sweeter
my view of the world carried a brighter glow

the connection seemed strong
all was well, I was riding the flow

now suddenly it’s over
all at once without warning

what once was a bright day
now is just another morning

my life shall move forward
as life always does

the new lessons I carry
from the moment that was

the sun shall still rise
and as always shall set

for the lesson I’ve learned
I am grateful we met

in time this shall be
just a blur in the past

in my future is one
that will truly last

but for now as always
I shall lick my wounds

find my way from this labryinth
navigating the ruins
