A middle-aged woman finds hope and encouragement in Susan Boyle.

My birthday rolled around this year, just like I knew it would.
 I should be very thankful; the alternative’s not good!
But this birthday seemed to leave me with a feeling of despair;
Was everything behind me?  Was there nothing left out there?
Then a little lass from Scotland, not so wet behind the ears;
Took the stage and took our hearts as  boos turned into cheers.
“I dreamed a dream,”  her voice sang out; no one could quite perceive;
That this little mousy woman had a reason to believe.
Susan Boyle, you made me see the best is yet to be;
Instead of just a “Memory,” my life’s ahead of me!
