A poem about being thankful to parents who love so much.

No matter where I am on earth, I am thankful for you both.

The sacrifices you have made for me has given me my growth.

The love you show me is like no other,

coming from a father and a mother.

I cherish the two of you and always will I pray

never will I forget what you have done for me I say.

Remembering when I was small and the lessons learned by you both I see

Now that I’m grown and gone these memories are what makes me, me.

You raised me with such love and faith and now I share this as who I am,

You raised me into a loving, caring and thoughtful man.

The love I feel for you both is sometimes so hard for me to express,

but deep down inside I know you know my feelings best.

I promise to always love you and keep you close to me in heart,

even when the miles separate us and we are all so far apart.

I pray to God to safely keep us all safe until we meet again,

I love you both so deeply for always for eternity until the end.

Beautiful and touching, I lost my mum at a very young age and can’t really remember her but I will still always be grateful.

thanks Linda – was this written by your son or was it written by you anticipating what your son would/might say OR is it fictional?? Just wondered – it’s lovely by the way
