I was driving above Cartersville, Georgia when I saw this girl in a bright red Chevy speeding up the road with a big pick-up truck right behind her. She turned in at the Dairy Queen and he went in right behind her. My imagination carried me for the rest of the way.
Hey there baby, where you going so fast!
Ripping down the road in that flaming red Chevy
Auburn hair flying, blue eyes shining
Giving me the eye I think I’m dying
I swivel my head as you pass me by
Riding in my pick-up way up high
Wave my hand trying to catch your eye
Pedal to the metal I hit your stride
You turn your head and give me a smile
I’m hot on your heels like a cat to cream
You turn on your blinkers to the Dairy Queen
I pull in beside you smooth as a dream
We set there giving each other the eye
Her blue eyes twinkling like stars in the sky
Puckers up her lips and whispers hi
I toss my cap and it lands inside
I slyly wink with a wolfish grin
Open the door and slide right in
I thought you might like these poems.
