Just a silly little poem that popped into my head.

You were my sense of pride
You are my feelings of utter despair
It is you I sought in times of sorrow
It is you that left me standing there

Alone in the darkness
On the side of a road that night
I waited and waited
Hoping that you would be in sight

You said you would be there
You said you would come
But hours later
I stuck out my thumb

Walking with my head down
I didn’t notice the car that went by
That could have been my way home
It made me want to cry

I was frightened and scared
It seemed like forever
This hitchhiking idea
Didn’t seem too clever

It was only a few more miles
To get home
Angry and cursing
The sides of my mouth
Starting to foam

I decided to walk
The rest of the way
With tears in my eyes
And blisters on my feet
I honestly felt like I’d been beat

Never again would I believe him
Never again would we speak
Because he left me standing there
Alone at the lake
That two timing sneak

A really nice poem about a real low-down snake. Next time park at a lake closer to home. lol.

A neatly woven poem about the hardships of waiting for someone who didn’t come. Indeed that’s the worst thing that could happen to anyone.

You weren’t held up, you were stood up. Everyone at some time or another in their life has experienced this before. Rejection is not a reflection, it’s an objection. Well done friend.
