There’s always someone somewhere that somehow sweeps us off our feet.
In you have I found someone, and that someone is a friend
In you have I found a reason, and that reason makes me grin till my lips touch my ears
Some call you priceless, others stick to your first name, Lucy
Both names are fabulous, but I would rather call you “nkem”, or like the French would say “la mienne”
My adorable friend, the chief ingredient in my love recipe, unswerving and a delight anytime
With your flawless shoes you kicked away my miseries and put an end to my seasons of loneliness
Whenever I think of you, I moonwalk like the king of pop till my shoes pop
I may not know much, but I know that I have found a friend in you, and you, a friend in me
I would drift away thinking of you on the battle field if I was in the army, thank God I’m not
My vest would go off long before my foes are taken unawares if I were a suicide bomber
I would literally drift all the way to Jupiter if I was an astronaut on the moon , thank God I’m not
After watching the TV sitcom The Golden Girls, there’s only one thing I must tell you and it is summed up in the drama’s theme song, “Thank you for being a friend”
