{This is a poem written just for the 4th of July.It’s about what we do when we celebrate this fantastic holiday,and how Earth tells us it’s coming soon.Sit back and relax as you visualise the calm setting.}
The 4th of July is near
The sky is bright and clear
The breeze is crisp
Yet the air is warm.
The 4th of July is near.
Seered barebeque fills the air
Colorful hats rest on top of hair
The patio tables shine
and the bees steal pollen.
The 4th of July is near.
Children stay out late to play
‘The sky is dark,but it’s early’,they say.
They laugh all night.
The crickets play soft tunes.
The 4th of July is near.
Squirelles race up and down the trees
People at booths sell lemonade and slushies
The elderly give light-hearted smiles
The neghborhood pool is crowded.
The 4th of July is near.
It’s 4th of July morning
Hotdogs and burgers scent backyards
The kids play with beach balls
while the adults play with cards.
Someone’s radio is on full blast
playing a familiar tune
Smoothies are served with extra ice
It’s boiling out,but you can see the moon.
The 4th of July is a sip of ice cold water
the first inhale of fresh air
the holiday we all look forward too
the time we spend with the ones who care.
It’s the ‘icing’ on the cake
if you know what I mean.
And that’s the way the 4th of July is seen.
