Is he teasing me?
Does he think his ways are pleasing me?

The ache in my heart, it’s real
The ache in my life, in every inch of my silhouette
My body can feel

Patty Griffin’s voice echoes my dreams
As she sings “Heavenly Day”
I just want to forget all the days that have past

I just want to reminisce in the perfect moments
We once made
I just want to remember the visions we once talked about
They were magical, in my mind divine scenes played

I am never out of touch with the quiet memory of his presence
The gentle times we blessedly shared
During those rare glimpses of heaven, I always made certain
To silently and thankfully pray
For I understood, such moments often are fleeting
Can pass quickly, similar to the unlikely chance of two strangers meeting

I wished he would come clear to me
I wished his façade would simply evaporate
Melt away and reveal only his true reality

Part of me understands the struggle between life and self preservation
Part of me knows that love is not always that picture perfect rose garden

But my heart cannot simply sit by and let all the oddities roll by
When you truly care, everything is important
When you truly care, you have to always ponder
You have to always continue with courage
To question and endlessly ask the one you love,
Oh why, my love, oh why…?
