When you look at someone and you recognize yourself.
If I search my subconscious I can find,
the demon that I left behind.
And in her eyes sometimes I see,
the demon that I used to be.
The haunted glimmer in her gaze-
like murder polished by her rage.
The windows lit and terror glazed,
are not familiar; they are the same.
I exorcised him long ago
why he’s there I do not know.
Lying dormant in the snow,
those planted seeds will always grow.
I know for sure within my mind,
the truth that clings ice to my spine:
Within my love I’ve seen the signs,
of the demon that once was mine.
