This is a poem written about a recent experience when staying with my father’s side of the family who live quite comfortably compared with myself.

and with every lie they told me

a tear struck from my eyes

they’d become accustomed to this way of life

and all their padded luxuries

they’d forgotten the strifes

their predecessors took to make it this way

they’d forgotten the neglect their descendants live in

they were uniformed and stately, majestic to me

a vagrant living near the city.
