I step upon and anthill, and as I quickly get out of the way, I wonder what the ants must be thinking.

I stepped upon an anthill once
An accident my friend
For to harm another creature
is not something I intend

I marvelled as those little ones
Courageously came forth
To stop this home intrusion
And protect their queen and court

Did they wonder what had hit them
As their fury did unfurl
Had it been some act of nature
Did a comet hit their world

I ran away before them
A safe place for to find
For those tiny scouts were vigilant
Revenge was on their mind

Yet as I thought about them
Some forty feet away
I wondered of the headlines
In the ant express that day

Wow, this is truly clever poem. Now all you do is put us instead of the ants, and see how meaningless can our search for meaning or reason can be.

    Things just happen
This is one of my favourite poems in this site
