The Ashen Shire
27 Mar 2011

It was at one time called
The Land of the Forever Fire
But the fire is long gone
Many call it the Ashen Shire

There are tales of the bold
Following foolish Lords of old
Believing that strong might
Be what needed to win this hold

Before this great battle
Wisdom was sought to advise them
A blind old wizard came
He spoke truthful words just for them

The Black Witch’s evil
Arose from secrets long far gone
You need your own secrets
For might is not enough alone

Listen they did not do
Five armies faced evil Black Witch
Five armies she burned
Now that land is burnt like dead pitch

Years and years have gone by
Now comes a young seventh daughter
Taking all day to find
With a rose to plant and water

She digs a deep deep hole
Cedar chips, tears and kissed water
She planted a rose bush
I am Rose a seventh daughter

Standing she gave the sky
A kiss from her heart to start rain
She twirled and sang love true
Starting life in land lost in pain

Dancing away she sings
This land has my love and name
Her land of Roses shire
A secret, cleansing all of shame
