This poem is describing what happens at night, the sounds, smells, and eyes that keep watch. The moon glides through the night sky until time to fade into daylight.
Smoke envelopes the air
while embers dance on a flare.
The wind peacefully quickens as it moves to and fro,
leaving no clue as to where it may go.
Oblivious to a watchful eye,
an audience is captivated by the luminous fire fly.
The howling of coyotes from a distant peak,
is audible by the silent, humble, and meek.
The moon casts a shadow giving way to light,
and without a sound awakens the night.
